Obituary of Earline Foster
Please share a memory of Earline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Earline Foster was born on 9/13/29 on an oil lease near Alpers, Oklahoma, and was the first born child of Vernie and Alvin Price. A few years later Earline made room for her baby brother, Ted Price. During World War II the family moved to Tulsa to support the war effort and all the women of the family who were of working age lent their support alongside the men as "Rosie the Riveters." While in Tulsa, Earline met the love of her life, David Leo Foster and the two eloped to Independence, Kansas in January 1947. On June 29, 1948 Earline gave birth to her first and only child, David Lynn Foster. Earline and David enjoyed living in various locations including Tulsa, Seminole, and Palm Beach before finally settling on their ranch outside of Davis, Oklahoma, where David was a successful Chevrolet dealer and cattle rancher. While David was running the dealership, Earline was running the ranch. Earline could most often be found behind the controls of her trusty bull dozer clearing the land. If she wasn't "redecorating" the ranch with her bull dozer, she was out shopping and redecorating the house. Earline and David were avid fishermen and shared with family and friends, numerous cabins and crappie docks on Grand Lake. In the summer of '67, Earline met the girl with big hazel eyes and blonde pig tails that she knew would one day marry her son, David Lynn. Her prediction held true and on 12/13/79, David Lynn and Cindy gave Earline one of her greatest joys, the birth of their first and only grandchild, Parker. With Parker, Earline gained a number one ranch hand and a patient for "Nurse Jane" aka Munna to care for. Whether it was a trip to Tahoe with Teri, a vacation in Hawaii with Kelley, shooting guns with Greg, boot scootin' with Trixie and Oma, shopping and eating out with Jewell, an afternoon crappie fishing with Teddy Bear, or caring for her beloved parents until their last days, Earline was happiest with family near. One of her all time favorite things to do was prepare a large meal for whomever was visiting. Whether it was the big country breakfast or her famous chicken and dressing, everyone cleaned their plate. Upon Earline and David's return to Tulsa in '95, everyone coveted a spot at her dinner table for fried potatoes and pinto beans. After David's passing in '96, Earline's passion for decorating reemerged and resulted in a world renowned condo that she dearly loved and enjoyed sharing with family. It was clear, Earline loved her family above all else. Today is special because we are all here to honor a wonderful daughter, niece, wife, mother, aunt, mother-in-law and grandmother. She has touched each and everyone of your lives in some special way. Cherish those memories and know that she will always be with you and you will one day be reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven.
