Obituary of Kirk Willson

Kirk Roger Willson (59) passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2010. He was the beloved son of Dixie Littlefield Willson and the late Keith Willson. Kirk was born at St John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 6, 1950, the eldest of four. His first two years of school were in Ragusa, Sicily, then Mechanicsburg, PA, L'Aiglon School, Bex, Switzerland and returned to Mechanicsburg to graduate.
He enjoyed playing in the band, the Debate Club, class plays, etc. He attended University of Pittsburgh for two years and later in life received a degree from Oklahoma State University in Industrial Engineering. Kirk's dad worked for Gulf Oil Company and lived in Tulsa, Ragusa, Sicily, Pennsylvania, Lagos, Nigeria, Seoul, Korea and Houston. The family took month-long trips through Europe and Asia. When Kirk was 19 he went around the world by himself, spending several months in India and Afghanistan. Kirk was a talented musician and composer. He played guitar and entertained in many venues in Houston and Tulsa.
He is survived by his mother, Dixie; his sister, Kristen Willson of Tulsa; his brothers, Craig Willson of Magnolia, TX, Geri Willson of Tomball, TX, and Corey M. Willson and his wife Lisa of Dripping Springs, TX; his nieces, Casey and Kelly of Dripping Springs, TX; his nephews, Jonathon Holden of Tulsa. He is also survived by his beloved Uncle Everett Smith of Tulsa; his cousins, Ed and Mary Smith of Angleton, TX, Braden Smith of Tulsa, Pattie Littlefield of Dallas and Janet Littlefiled Vaughn of Denton, TX and Dr. Wayne Littlefield of Lawton, OK; not to leave out his 3 little Maltese, Buddy, Holly and Babe.
Kirk was preceded in death by his father, his special Aunt Kay (Katherine Smith); his uncles, Cloyce Littlefield and Dr. Cleat Littlefield of Denton, TX.
Kirk was a kind and generous person who wrote many songs about his love for God. Friends and family are gathering to celebrate Kirk's life on the first day of Spring, Saturday, March 20 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tulsa Select Hotel and Convention Center, 5000 East Skelly Drive.
