Please share a memory of Calion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Calion Barry Lockridge, Sr. was born to Grace Deloyce Cullom Lockridge and Tanzy Barry Lockridge on December 5, 1944.
Cal, as he was known to friends and family, was a gifted tinkerer, mechanic and builder. Being the grandson of Boynton businessman Napoleon Lockridge, his aptitude for all things mechanical was not surprising. Cal's natural talents carried him through a career with Xerox Corporation as a Senior Technical Services Representative that lasted 26 years. During his tenure at Xerox, Cal earned the award of Par Club.
Before Cal embarked on his career with Xerox, he served his country on active duty with the United States Army as a member of the Special Forces. Cal achieved the rank of Sergeant E4 after 13 years of combined active and reserve duty service.
Always learning, Cal studied real estate and electronics at many colleges and technical schools: Oklahoma State University, Okmulgee Tech, Tulsa Junior College, Tulsa Tech and Regents University. Cal earned an associate's degree from Regents University.
Cal was an active member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He served as the treasurer of Vernon A.M.E. Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lay Organization, Steward and Trustee Boards and the Sons of Allen.
Always proud of his heritage, Cal was an active member of the Boynton Alumni Association.
Brother Lockridge is the second generation of a three generation legacy of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He has served Alpha as the Treasurer of the Alpha Tau Lambda Chapter for over twenty years. Cal also was a 32nd degree Freemason.
On September 12, 1969, Cal married Patricia Ann Johnson. Together, they raised their children Patricia, Grace and Calion Jr. Cal was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Anastasia. Cal is survived by his wife, three children, one grandson Eric Raymond, daughter-in-law Dr. Aisha Lockridge and an extended family that includes many cousins, nieces and nephews.
