Obituary of Jean Anderson

Jean Carol "Jeanie" Anderson passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Jeanie was born to Edward D. Anderson and Mary K. Anderson on June 5, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was an enthusiastic, joyful member of the Tulsa Recreation Center for the Physically Limited for many years and enjoyed the activities offered there. She especially enjoyed going bowling, swimming, and working on ceramics as well as other crafts. She liked to travel with family and made many family visits to Wisconsin and Missouri. he favorite destination was Sanibel Island, Florida where she basked on the beach and rod the waves in a beach wheelchair. She was noted for her cheerful attitude,k sense of humor, and she rarely met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents and a beloved caregiver, Helen Graves. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Erik and Lili Anderson, nephew, Erik Anderson, Jr. a sister, Lynn Anderson, longtime caregiver and friend, Theresa Dixon. The family appreciates the care and attention given to Jeanie by her docitors at St. John, especially Dr. Rooks and Dr. Olive, and by the medical ICU staff and by her primary doctor, Lisa King, M.D. The family ask that memorials in Jeanie's name be made to the Tulsa Area United Way, 1430 South Boulder Avenue West Tulsa, OK 74119, The Little Light House, 5120 East 36th Street Tulsa, OK 74135, or to St. Pius X Church School Community, 1717 S 75th E Ave Tulsa, OK 74112. A celebration of life will held at a later date.
