Obituary of Elizabeth Hoose

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Parrish Van Hoose ,85, retired administrative assistant at the University of Tulsa and native Tulsan left this life on July 11, 2006. Born September 26, 1920 to Harry F. and Louise (Moffett) Parrish in Tulsa. A graduate of Tulsa Central High School Class of 1937, she completed undergraduate degrees at Lindenwood College, St Charles, Missouri and the University of Tulsa. She also completed a graduate degree at the University of Tulsa where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, and Kappa Pi and Alpha Rho Tau honorary art fraternities. Betty was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and Friendship Chapter #492 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also served on the alumni boards for both Lindenwood College and the University of Tulsa. Predeceased by her parents, brother Harry J. Parrish, husband Max B. Van Hoose, son Michael H. Van Hoose and daughter Marie L. (Penny) Looney. She is survived by her son Marc L. Van Hoose and his wife Donna, three granddaughters and one great granddaughter: Dawn Langridge and husband Steve and daughter Brooke; Shannah Van Hoose; Jennifer Doyle and her husband Chris; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2006 at the Ninde Garden Chapel, 3841 S. Peoria.
