George Dewey Spies, 85, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born September 17, 1924 in Canton, Ohio the son of George Dewey and Bernice Ann (Lehr) Spies. During World War II he served our country in the U.S. Navy. George received his Bachelor and Master's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He moved to Tulsa in 1959 where he had a long career at Maloney Crawford Tank Corp. Subsequently, he helped form and would become President and Co-Owner of UniPro. He married Betty Ann Ciemiega on February 29, 1952. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years on October 12, 2009. Survivors: daughters, Becky Tearney and her husband William of Tulsa and Gail Baker of Houston, TX; Son, George Michael Spies and his wife Denise of Houston, TX; his Grandchildren: Heather McGee, Nicholas McGee, Hunter Baker and Brian Baker; his Great Grandchild: Halley McGee. Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in Ninde Brookside Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
