FENRICH, Donald Roe, 86, died Sunday, June 11, 2006. Mr. Fenrich was born in Oshkosh, WI, on Christmas Day 1919, the son of the late Lee and Mary Alice Fenrich. He and his wife, Virginia, delivered Meals on Wheels in Tulsa for more than 22 years. In 1999 the couple was given the Meals On Wheels Hero Award for saving the life of a client. He was also a longtime Red Cross blood donor and volunteer. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in London, England during WWII. Mr. Fenrich was a longstanding member and usher of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He retired from his job as a programmer for Sun Oil Co. in 1982. He married the former Eda Marie Meathers on December 29, 1945; she died on Christmas Day in 1979. He married Virginia, on June 27, 1981. Mr. Fenrich was active for many years in the youth accordion music field. Later in his life, Mr. Fenrich took accordion lessons and entertained friends and acquaintances. Before her marriage to Mr. Fenrich, the former Virginia Rice, was a noted bowler. After their marriage the couple bowled in the mixed leagues at Sheridan Bowl. Mr. Fenrich was also a member of the Toastmasters International. In addition to music and bowling, Mr. Fenrich enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and repairing accordions. Mrs. Virginia Fenrich's two sons, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren welcomed him into their family with warmth and love. His two sons felt blessed that their father had found such a wonderful companion as Virginia. Mr. Fenrich is survived by his widow, Virginia Fenrich of Tulsa, his older sister Ruth Davies of Oshkosh, WI. two sons, John L. Fenrich and his wife, Kay, of Woodland, CA., Gerald W. Ronningen-Fenrich and his wife, Kris, of Seattle, WA. and Nice, France; his granddaughter and two great grandsons, his stepsons Jack Rice and his wife, Donna, of Tulsa, Jerry Wayne Rice and his wife, Linda, of Oklahoma City, and stepdaughter Carolyn Osborne and her husband, Bob, of Broken Arrow; seven step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren. Services will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1244 S. Utica Ave., 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon with a graveside ceremony and military salute following at Rose Hill Mausoleum, 4161 E.
