Obituary of Jo Edwards

Jo Ellen (Jacobs) Edwards was born July 8, 1935 in Milo, Iowa to Harry E. and Katharine Miller (Culter) Jacobs and passed from this life October 1, 2009 at the age of 74. She was raised in Kellogg, Iowa and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1952. She worked in the office at Midwest Metal Stamping after high school and then later at Equitable Life in Des Moines. She was married to Paul L. Edwards on September 5, 1954; they recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. They began their life together in Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana where they started their family. She lived in Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. She took great pride in her family and dearly loved her pets. She was an avid reader and traveler. She truly enjoyed life and her special way of interacting with people. Looking back she "wouldn't have changed a thing." Preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kay Ann McNab of California; and her brother Charles Whitehill of Iowa, Jo is survived by her husband, Paul; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and James Roy of Virgina; her son, Thomas Edwards of New Jersey; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Jerry Hirshman of Arkansas, Linda and Jim Lynn of Iowa and Phyllis and Robert Muswieck of Oregon. In Tulsa visitation with the family will be at 10:00 am and Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 5 at the Ninde Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services in Iowa will be Thursday, October 8 at the Kellogg Christian Church at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am. Final interment will be at Westfield Cemetery, Grinnell, IA.
