Obituary of Martha Kelley

KELLEY, Martha John Thomas passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Kelley was born November 27, 1908 to Jesse and Mary C. John in Lamont, OK. She attended University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State University receiving her degree in Math. In 1929 she married Marvin H. Thomas and had two daughters Kathryn and Sue. She worked as Executive Secretary for Johnson-Fagg Engineering Company. Mrs. Kelley was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Circle Class for over 75 years, as well as a member of Susanna Circle and a member and former President of Soroptimist International of Tulsa. Marvin Thomas passed away in 1956 and Martha married Cecil E. Kelley, retired President of Tulsa Paper Company, in 1976. They both loved traveling and had many wonderful trips. Mr. Kelley died in 1984. Mrs. Kelley was also preceded in death by her daughters, Kathryn Hill and Sue Lorenz, and a step daughter, Mildred Flowers. She is survived by son-in-law, Wilbur Lorenz and step son-in-law, Jack Flowers, grandchildren, Ron and Isa Robinson, Steve and Kathy Robinson, Linda and Bob Mieir, Cindy and Mike Moore, Diane Abeyta and Larry Hill. Mrs. Kelley also has eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, loving nieces and nephews Wynell and Bob Merritt and Peg and Jude Darensbourg, as well as many friends who have had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful woman and will miss her greatly. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13th at 11 a.m. at Ninde Woodland Chapel. Private entombment Memorial Park Mausoleum. Ninde Woodland 728-8500.
