<span style="font-family: 'times new roman','serif'; font-size: 16pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'times new roman'"> <span><strong>Sophia Stakis Psalidas Denham</strong>, 87, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. She was born October 9, 1921 in El Dorado, KS the daughter of Anastacios Mike and Helen (Staples) Stakis.

<o:p></o:p></span><p></p> <span style="font-family: 'times new roman','serif'; font-size: 16pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'times new roman'">Sophia left this country to live with her father's family in Greece in 1926. Due to German-Italian occupation of Greece during WWII, she was not able to return to America for the next twenty years. Sophia arrived home in 1946 and was employed as a seamstress in many high end clothing stores in Tulsa. With her shrewd head for business she began buying real estate and became a successful landlady and property manager.

Sophia was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for many years, member of the Order of the Amaranth and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her sister, Julia Stakis; brother, George Stakis; and her three children Chryssoula Perdikas Killian, Elaine Psalidas Frye and Anastacios Mike Psalidas. She is survived by her husband David Denham; daughter-in-law, Karen Psalidas; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her.

Trisagion will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday and the funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Monday.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Both services will be at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
