Ina Louise Vrooman (Ina Lou or "Boo" Croston) was born on November 4, 1932 and left this world to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2025. She was the homecoming queen and graduated from Tulsa Central High in 1950. Ina attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU) for two years and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Ina married her high school sweetheart, Roscoe "Ross" Vrooman, in 1953, and they were married for 62 1/2 years until his passing in 2015. She and Roscoe raised and loved their four children, Debbie (Chuck) Voss, Linda (Stephen) Rogers, David and Steven (Jenny) very much. She also adored her grandchildren, Jennifer (Kishore) Tallapaneni, Jessica Rogers, Emily Voss, Savannah, Daniel (Sadie), Breanna, and Bethany Vrooman as well as her great grandchildren, Avani and Neona Tallapaneni.
Ina felt especially close to her brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws. They were truly family to her. Ina loved to encourage people with cards, phone calls, and a shared meal. Ina was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe (Ross), her son, David, her father, Merwyn Croston Sr., and mother, Roberta (Bobbi) Croston, her brothers, Merwyn Jr., George and Robert (Bob) Croston.
Ina was a wonderful homemaker noted for her wonderful meals and hospitality. Ina was born in Tulsa, but after marriage she lived primarily in Dallas, Texas, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Mandeville, Louisiana before returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma for their retirement years. Ina was very active in the community and her church in every town. She enjoyed serving at hospitals, retirement homes, P.E.O International, Newcomers Club, Welcome Wagon, WDM United Methodist (UMC) church, St. Timothy UMC, Asbury UMC were she often served as President of the UMC Women's group, Nifty class of 50, and she served at the Samaritan Center, camp nurse for girl scouts, and she ran the Holiday Park concessions for the whole baseball league for years. She also had a huge heart for animals and worked for a time at a veterinary clinic. Her "furry children" over the years included beloved dogs: Sue, Dottie, Tiny, Pepi, Beauty, Ping, Pong, Scamper, and Oreo. Plus, she adored her companion cats: Muffin, G.T., Tinkerbell, and Sweetums. She spent her last 3 years of life in Urbandale with her daughter Linda (Stephen) Rogers, and then almost a year in assisted living in Clive, Iowa.
We thank God for her wonderful life of love. Truly, "she lit up the room" and "she never met a stranger". She loved God and loved people. She was a Proverbs 31 verse 29 woman. "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Ina will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
